Celebrate your friends or family member’s birthday with some amazing, simple birthday party DIY ideas that we have listed down for you below.

 

Rainbow Fan Garland

If you’re planning a rainbow-themed make sure to include this bright and easy rainbow fan garland.

You will need:

Scissors

Paper in rainbow colors

Tape

Step 1

First, cut the colored paper into squares. Used here is are 8.5 x 11 inch standard letter papers (not card-stock, just plain copy paper) and cut to make 8.5 x 8.5 squares

 

Step 2

Next, accordion fold the paper squares. You can do this quickly – it doesn’t need to be perfect!

 

Step 3

Then fold the folded paper in half, to make a fan.

Step 4

Tape the middle, to connect the two folded sides.

 

Step 5

Next, line up the folded paper fans order to make an ombre rainbow. One fan should point up and the next fan should point down, and so on. Once the rainbow fans are in order, tape the fans together to form the garland. (You could also staple or hot glue them, whichever you prefer).

Unicorn Party Cups

You will need:

White Paper Cups

Tissue Paper in rainbow colors

Stapler

Gold Glitter Cardstock

Paper Straws

Black Marker

Tape

Scissors

Step 1

Begin by cutting your tissue paper into 1/4″ strips that are 6″ long. Then layer two strips of each colour on top of each other and staple onto the cup.

 

Step 2

Next, cut your glitter cardstock into an arch that measure about 2-3″ tall and wrap into a cone shape. (Be sure to leave a small hole at the top of the cone so that you can slip the cone over the drinking straw). Use tape to secure the ends of the card stock and then place onto the straw and tape to the straw. The last step is to use the black marker to draw eyes and eyelashes on each side of the cup.

Pom Poms Hats

You will need:

Plain party hats

Foam Pouncers

Acrylic Paint

-Yarn

Pom Poms

Glue Gun

 

Step 1

Take foam pouncer and stamp polka dots onto the party hats.

Step 2

Glue pom poms around bottom of the party hat using a hot glue gun.

Birthday Cake Gift Box

You will need:

Small round box

Paint

Paint brush

Tissue paper, yellow and pink colour

Scissors

Glue

Straw

Confetti (optional)

 

Step 1

Paint the body and top of the box your desired paint colour.

Step 2

Fold the pink tissue paper and cut several 1-2 inch pieces. Fringe both sides.

Step 3

Apply a small amount of glue around the top of the box and lightly scrunch the fringed tissue. Repeat along the bottom of the box. For a fuller look, double up the tissue.

 

Step 4

Cut a paper straw into three equal sized pieces. Glue the bottoms of the straws to the top of the box.

 

Step 5

Fold up a piece of yellow tissue so that it’s thick. Cut a flame shape, crumble it a little and pinch the bottom so that it fits inside the opening of the straw.

 

Step 6

Lastly, sprinkle confetti.
